Private Montana Ranch Wedding | Megan & Clark

There’s nothing like a Montana destination wedding for providing that instant shot of relaxation. Guests flying in from all over the world are quickly reminded of a slower pace. Megan and Clark chose his family ranch for their ceremony and reception not only for it’s magnificence but also because it had been an important family destination for years.

Oh and how they were blessed with the weather. An October wedding must always have indoor contingencies, but none were necessary as the skies were clear and the air almost balmy. Sometimes you just know when the party is a winner…great food, great music, groom plays the drums with the band and the entire guest list rocks the night away under the clear-top tent… with full view of the moon. Perfect!!!

Private Montana Home Wedding | Breeze & Grant

Montana weddings are always spectacular, but arriving at the wedding site for Breeze and Grant was a jaw-dropping experience. Nestled at the base of sky-high cliffs and right on the Stillwater River was the location for the ceremony. And this location represented more than just beauty as the property had been in Breeze’s family for several generations…the home having been rebuilt after a fire and now representing the love between Breeze and Grant.

Friends and family traveled from all over to this Montana destination wedding…but mostly from Boulder, Colorado, where the couple now lives. If you’ve ever heard of the great energy bar called the “Breeze Bar,” yes that’s hers!

What we loved most…besides the amazing food from Abby’s Catering in Billings, Montana and the fantastic sound from the Jackson Hole, Wyoming Band “One Ton Pig,” was the very creative and unique gift from Breeze’s dad…the creation of the couple’s honeymoon suite. As you’ll see briefly in the film, the suite was hand built inside a tent…hardwood floors, fluffy duvet, flowers complete with a riverside view.

Wedding at the Glacier Mountain Lodge | Marjorie & Carl

We spent the weekend with Carl and Marjorie, starting with the filming of their welcome dinner at the historic Marion Inn. Cowboy boots of all styles and a great western style buffet followed by a campfire and s’mores, allowed us to get to know many of the family and friends who would share in the joy of the wedding day.

We were so excited to meet Marjorie’s brother Jason who would be officiating the wedding as he had just landed in Montana after a tour of duty overseas. What a magical moment for him, as well as the rest of the family to not only have him home but to take the helm at his sister’s wedding. The event was simply…perfect, a reflection of this couple and the love they share and the one word Carl uses repeatedly in this film to describe the love of his life.

The Lodge at Whitefish Lake Wedding | Brenda & Patrick

So many of the weddings we film are Montana destination weddings, which means we rarely get to meet the couples we work with prior to the wedding. But we spend a lot of time on the phone, and with Brenda, we instantly bonded over our pups..the puggle. Her puggle, Brooklyn and our family puggle, Izzy are so similar that I hope they get the chance to meet someday. Had Brooklyn come to the wedding, she would have been so proud of her “mom” and “dad.” Brenda and Patrick were surrounded by the best of friends and wonderful family, who were constantly amazed at the breathtaking views of Whitefish Lake. Great food, dancing and the s’mores at evening’s end…a perfect day!

Wedding at The Woodlands | Danielle & Scott

We had a blast filming Danielle and Scott’s wedding at the beautiful Woodlands outside Bozeman, Montana. The day was infused with both a wild sense of humor as well as great design elements…fake mustaches, plastic pickles, a bouquet made from heirloom brooches. Top it all of with great dancing and an Elle’s Belles dessert bar and you have one memorable celebration.

7D Ranch Rehearsal Dinner / outside Cody, Wyoming | Melissa & Josh

Rehearsal Dinners are such a kick to film because the guests are so relaxed and just having fun as they anticipate the next day’s wedding. The 7D family guest ranch, in Sunlight Basin near Cody, Wyoming, was particularly special to the bride and groom, Melissa and Josh, because that is where they met when they were 12 years old while guests at adjacent ranches. From different parts of the country, they would return each year….and look what happened! One of the best aspects of a rehearsal dinner are the toasts which provide the thread that ties the stories from both families together. We used pieces of that narrative to help tell the story of the evening.

Private Montana Ranch Wedding | Susanne & Andrew

Susanne and Andrew are huge animal lovers, having chosen to adopt and rehabilitate many of the animals who share their ranch. So there was no better place than to hold the ceremony in the barn with some of their favorite horses looking on from the stalls that lined the seating area. Ponies also made their way down the aisle for the processional and their adorable dog “Annie” served as ring bearer. Leslie Lukas from Leslie Lukas Weddings and Events designed a wedding that fit the couple perfectly with special touches of elegance mixed with a cozy, down-home, ranch feel.
